Account Deletion and Data Removal
This page explains how to permanently delete your StarLearn account and what we do with your personal data afterwards. Please read it before you go ahead.
Deleting your account in the app
You will find the deletion option in the app under Me → Settings → Delete Account. Follow these steps:
- Open the StarLearn app and go to the Me tab at the bottom.
- Tap Settings in the top-right corner.
- Choose Delete Account and read the notice.
- Confirm the deletion. You will be asked to confirm a second time to guard against accidents.
Requesting deletion by email
If you cannot sign in or cannot complete the steps above, email support@starresearch.cn with the subject “Account deletion request”, sent from the address you registered with.
To protect your account we verify your identity before carrying out the deletion.
What happens immediately
Once you confirm, you are signed out and the app's local data is cleared. You can no longer sign in with that account or reach its study history or subscription benefits.
Deleting your account does not itself refund an active subscription. Manage that in Google Play or the App Store.
We keep your data for 30 days
After deletion we mark your account for removal on our servers and keep the data for 30 days. That window covers accidental deletions, account takeovers and any dispute that may arise.
During it your account is invisible and unusable to you, and we do not use it to provide the Service.
How to undo a deletion
Any time within those 30 days you can reverse the deletion: sign back into the app with your original account, or email support@starresearch.cn and ask us to restore it.
Once restored, your account and study data return to the state they were in before deletion. We suggest doing this as soon as you can.
After 30 days it cannot be recovered
When the 30 days are up we permanently delete your account and the personal data tied to it, or anonymise it irreversibly.
That step cannot be undone and the data cannot be recovered. Export anything you want to keep before you delete your account.
